Oh. [ There's a slight uplift to that little "oh" of his. Stabbing his froyo with his spoon, he lets it sit in front of him for the moment. ] Had a hunch that was the case.

[ As he says this, he peels off his right glove, immediately exposing the wildly patterned set of command spells on the back of his hand. He's been contracted to Marie for some time now, but. Well...he's either wearing gloves, or neither one were really looking at the back of the others' hands much really.

[ Weiss reaches for his hand with both of hers to look at the seal properly. It's different from hers—a lot fancier-looking, but she's not complaining. She likes that hers ended up looking like her emblem. ]

I swear, if you get into any more trouble with a Servant, and with your Aura, and with your materia, and everything else? [ Her eyes merely narrow as she looks back at him.

[ If Cloud had wolf ears right now, they'd have twitched a little before standing upright to go along with the wide-eyed expression on his face. But he doesn't fight when she takes his hand in both of hers to have a look. From a chancing glance, hers looked like a snowflake. Definitely on brand and- ]

[ What. What! Cloud did nothing wrong! Besides the ... Aura thing. WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE. Sometimes he didn't know whether to be scared of her...or think that her fussing like this was cute. Fortunately for him, he decides not to remark on either possibility. Instead, he lets out a gentle huff, shaking his head as he reassures her. ]

[ She lets go of his hand once he responds. It really did worry her before, and she's going to continue to worry for him because he's important. ]

[ Phew. Phew. Okay! Neat. He doesn't want it to be the entire focal point of their day, but...curiosity and all. He takes another spoonful of his mango yoghurt, this time making sure he got a blackberry on top the bite. ]

[ Weiss blinks curiously, then thinks about her conversation with Charles. Oh— ]

[ It's only because of her reaction that his own eyes widen again too. Sometimes concealing the identity of a Heroic Spirit was the difference between victory and defeat. ...not that he was worried about that here. He did what he did to help someone in need.

[ CLOUD YOU CAN'T JUST ASK THAT ALDJALF

Weiss squeezes the cup she's holding, and a strawberry falls to the table. Oh my god. ]

Shut up! It's not Charles!

[ Totally not him, even though she just called him by his first name and all.

With one less strawberry in her cup, she hurriedly eats the rest and then sets the cup down with a plop. She's not seething, nor does she look frustrated, but she's clearly telling Cloud that her mood is all his fault with the pout she's giving him. ]

[ Okay. Now it's his turn to laugh. Usually Cloud's the one on the receiving end of it. Luckily it's not a full-blown laugh. More like a soft chuckle that gets his shoulders shaking a bit at how flustered he's getting her.

By technical standards, he's been a Master far longer than most anyone would be in a regular war. So he's used to it all by now. ...even if he's, by no measure, someone to look to as a role model in the Master department. He would hide his hands almost all the time due to the initially tense bond he formed with her. Something that was outside of their control, and one that left the Rider feeling immense guilt for getting him involved. ]

Sorry. [ He only half means it. Man, she wolfed down the rest of that real quick. No brain freeze? There's not as much left of his either, but he's clearly falling behind. Cloud lightly shrugs. ] But since it's him, I probably woulda found out sooner than later.

[ While Cloud's gone ahead and asked, Weiss doesn't ask anything back. It's none of her business, even though she does want to know. He'll tell her if he wants to, and it's not like she can have a change of tune now after the recent turn of their conversation. ]

I'm still hungry.

[ Just as Cloud leans back in his seat, moments before he thinks to tell her why (and even the odds), she's still holding that pout when she suddenly makes that thought known. Still hungry? That was bigger than what he normally ordered the two of them! ~~There's always that strawberry on the table.~~ For a couple of seconds, he cocks a brow before it clicks. Right, right. Cordis. ]

For...more yoghurt? Or...?

[ Just clarifying. ]

No. I want some fresh bread.

[ A pork floss bun would be pretty great right now... ]

[ Blink. Blink. That's quite the sudden change. Shouldn't bread come before dessert? ...don't question the Cordis, Cloud. Don't. He shrugs, and decides to take this as a cue to finish up his own treat a bit quicker. ]

Suppose I could go for some myself. [ Om. Om. Om. Man that's good. Ice cold mango frozen yoghurt with chilled blackberries on top. Down the hatch! Spoonful after spoonful. He finishes-- ]

Ah- [ Hold on a sec, Weiss. He puts his tongue to the roof of his mouth while rubbing a couple fingers on his forehead. That's the look of a man who got hit with brain freeze. ]

[ Oh, she's seen that look before. She's seen Ruby's face crunch up like that many times before. He's got a brain freeze... ]

You know you're not supposed to eat that quickly.

[ Must be nice being an ice queen whose immune to brain freezes. ~~That's his headcanon for her and he's sticking to it.~~ One or two face scrunches later and he feels a wave of warmth wash over him. And it's oh-so-nice.

[ Good! She gets up to throw her cup in the trash, then waits for Cloud outside the store.

There just so happens to be a food stand nearby that sells crepes. Weiss has never seen this crepe stand before, so she waves at Cloud from outside. If that doesn't get his attention, she pops back in. She stays just by the door and calls after him. ]

Cloud, there's a guy selling crepe! Come on!

[ SHE'S SO EXCITED???? :D She's fully expecting him to treat her, too. (Ah... she's so spoiled.) ]

[ Cloud gets up to toss his own cup in the trash, only pausing momentarily to see her waving at him from outside the window. Shaking his head with a sigh, he puts a hand on his hip as he questions what he got himself into.

Well? What are you waiting for, Cloud?! ]

'Kay! [ Offering a silent wave over his shoulder to the lady behind the front counter, he runs out the door to catch up with Weiss. Crepe? Did she mean that stand across the street? He squints his eyes a little as he spots the myriad of flavours and combinations. ] Never seen a crepe before...

[ But he sure can smell it from over here. It smells like...pancakes? Breakfast? He has to admit, they do look pretty flashy. It seems that the guy selling crepes noticed the Cordis' enthusiasm, because while they don't wave at the two from across the street, he has his eye on them while he finishes preparing an order for a couple of Prismal parents with their kid. As he crosses the street (assuming with Weiss in tow), Cloud spares a sideways glance her way. He's not complaining, but...something tells him his proverbial wallet was gonna be getting cracked open a couple more times today. ]

"Garden Chicken"? [ He's no expert, but from what he was smelling earlier, he thought this was exclusively some kind of sweet/dessert stand. But the younger Prismal behind the counter was quick to enlighten his new customers! "Yes sir! We specialize in both savoury and sweet crepes. It's very popular this time of year. ]

The more you know... [ So, what can I get you two? ] Weiss?

[ If she can't decide first, he'll wing it and get something before her. Either way, his treat. ]

[ This is where things get conflicting. Weiss would like something savoury, but she also wants the cinnamon apple dream??? It takes her some time to browse through the menu overhead, and she's in serious thought as she decides.

Crepes are supposed to be sweet — at least, that's the kind of crepe that she likes!! But at the same time, she's pretty hungry... ]

I can't decide... [ Oh, but her Chroma's draining, so she has to decide soon?? ] I think I'll get the Clubhouse for now.

[ For now. ]

[ Cloud has a conundrum too. Mainly because while he wasn't as hungry as Weiss was, he couldn't just do two sweet things back to back. He wasn't exactly a sweet tooth kind of person. ...in the sense he honestly only really has it around others. So he's scoping out the savoury section too. As she deliberates what to pick, he decides to make a quick choice. ]

Lemme try the Teriyaki Chicken.

[ It's familiar enough. "Good choice. And for you, Miss?"

And a Clubhouse! For now! ...wait. What? ~~Danger. Danger Cloud's proverbial wallet.~~

"Sure thing! Is that everything?" Well, according to Weiss. For now. So Cloud nods in response with an affirmative, "Mm." The crepes weren't a bad price. Somewhere around the medium range. He pays with his Chroma, and the Prismal is off to start their order as the process of making their crepes fresh begins! ]

What are crepes like? [ He asks while they wait. ]

They're like pancakes, only thinner.

[ Weiss moves closer to the stand to watch the guy cook and prepare their food. While she may love crepes, she's never actually made one before. She's more keen on watching others make it, and she fondly remembers Klein making while she stood next to him as his assistant. That was when she was younger! And she definitely can no longer have moments like that anymore. ]

Oh, and they're folded, not just flat.

I thought it smelled familiar.

[ And no, that's not because of his cycle (that it's currently not.) Pancakes were still common back home too! Cloud is admittedly curious too now. He's taller so he has a better bird's eye view of watching as the crepe is formed across a circular flat top. Different from the way one would just pour a pile of pancake mix into a pan and just let it get nice and fluffy. ]

Sounds fancy. [ And there's the folding part! ] ...and a little bit more work.

[ Even though Cloud technically ordered first, the Prismal prepares Weiss' first. Down goes the lettuce first! Then the tomatoes, bacon bits and sliced ham. The chicken is last before getting an artsy drizzling of dressing. The Clubhouse comes in a cone shape, with plenty of room for Weiss to hold onto it as the Prismal passes it to her before heading back to start making Cloud's!

It didn't take long to make, huh. ]

[ It's said with a pleasant smile to the Prismal as she takes her food. And as much as she'd like to chow down already, she waits for Cloud to get his order so they can eat together. It's only courteous!

Plus, the food's still hot!

As soon as the guy gives Cloud his order though, Weiss takes out her device and switches on her camera. Does she intend to take a video of Cloud's first time eating a crepe? You bet. ]

Okay— go eat!

[ Cloud taps his fingers along the counter idly as he waits. Once he gets his order as well, he only notices out of the corner of his eye when she pulls out her device. ]

Mm?

[ "Okay— go eat!" Hold up. Time out. She's got the camera pointed squarely at him. Is she- ]
