[ Her pull on Cloud's hand becomes a little more forceful as her strides get longer. The bakery isn't all that big, but their breads are delicious and fresh and Weiss has their schedules memorised.
The line isn't all that long, but the breads are limited, especially the floss buns, which Weiss seriously has a craving for right now. Hopefully she'll be able to get some before it runs out. ]

[ Cloud is quick to match Weiss' longer strides as they approach the bakery in question. While it wasn't like the line was out the door, the moment they get inside, they're pretty much at the back of the bakery waiting. Being the taller one of the two, he stands up on his tippy toes for a couple seconds to gauge how many people were ahead of them. ]
Must be the dinner rush.
[ Well. Not that people tend to go here for straight-up dinner. But he imagines lots of locals are heading home by now after work and grabbing some bread along the way. The only thing the two of them can do, honestly, is wait. Which means that the limited supply of floss buns that the Cordis-blessed girl sought may not be there by the time it's their turn to order. He can see batches of them behind the glass up at the front, with some customers ahead of them selecting them as they're a rather popular pick. Uh oh. Did they dilly-dally too long? Who knew that the 5 to 10 minutes Weiss spent waiting for Cloud back at the FroYo place could have been the game changer?
It's not like they can cut ahead or ask the people ahead of them not to order the floss buns. Cloud may be quiet at times, but he was far from socially inept; common sense and couth went a long ways. Still does nothing for the fact that at the rate they're flying off the racks, Weiss would have to do without her craving... That is, until it's the middle-aged Prismal woman's turn just ahead of them. They hum and haw at the various options, trailing their finger over the last two floss buns Weiss is after...and then moving to other options.
"It all looks so good... What to grab, what to grab...?" ]
The Cheese, Spinach & Feta Pullapart's pretty good. [ Suddenly, the woman peers to her side to find the spiky-haired young man tapping the glass over where the aforementioned treat is. She taps her lower lip in thought. "Ohh... You've had it?" ]
Yeah! [ No he hasn't. ] It's one of my favourites.
[ It isn't. ]
[ "Well in that case...!" She happily orders the baked good Cloud "recommends". He sounded like he knew what he was talking about so, she's satisfied with her purchase!
There's two floss buns left. It's Weiss' turn. Victory. ]

While the cashier is assembling the breads, they're asked to wait to the side so the next person can order. Weiss looks around, an idea popping into her head, and flaps a hand to beckon Cloud to lean down. He's not much taller, but he needs to lean down all the same so Weiss can tell him what's on her mind. ]
I didn't take you for the type to pull something like that.
... Thanks. [ She's quick and sneaky, and the smooch she plants on Cloud's cheek is all totally Cordis' doing. :) ]
no subject
And when he leans down, Cloud's mostly on the mark. Was it that surprising? Maybe so, depending on how he presented himself to someone. ]
Well, spending time in the slums will teach you a thing or two.
[ That's when Weiss' sneak smooch attack is put into effect. It's one thing having to handle the subtle draw of her pheromones during Cordis, but having her catch him with his guard down? It's a miracle he only faintly blushes and makes a soft strained noise in the back of his throat. Uh uh uhhh~ No making a scene, former SOLDIER. ]
A-Ah... Yeah. [ He nods back before straightening upright and fixing his open collar which didn't even require fixing anyways. Was it warm in here? It's warm in here. ] No sweat.
no subject
Here.
[ She's not even sure if Cloud is into cinnamon or raisin or pretzels or... well, all of those at once. It's delicious, though, so it's another thing she's keen on sharing with him. ]
That's your share.
[ The share of the bread he paid for???? ]
no subject
Hah. [ It's a short little huff, but he smiles all the same as he accepts the pretzel from her. ] Another job well done.
[ Tongue in cheek jab at his old mercenary days? Maybe. He wants to wait for her to dig into her bun before he bites his pretzel. It's really warm in his hands... ]
no subject
What are your plans after this?
[ She doesn't have any plans for the day, so they can hang out!! Weiss doesn't normally make plans during Cordis, unless it's for work. ]
no subject
Actually, I don't have any.
[ With that, he's gonna take a bite of his pretzel. Judging by the look on his face, he's satisfied with it. Good pick, Weiss. Chroma burnout aside, being a Cordis and burning through food like this sounds nice. ]
You?
no subject
[ And a part of her is hoping he'd invite her to go somewhere, whether it's just so sit down and chat or to do something together. Weiss actually slows her roll now, because she realises that perhaps she's being a little too much. The handholding, the wiping of his mouth from earlier, the cheek kiss... These are things she wouldn't do on a normal day, and she's realising that Cordis is being a little too influential right now. She doesn't want their friendship to get all weird because of the moon.
Then again, it's not like what they have is conventional, in the first place. ]
no subject
If be were being truthfully honest, even if it wasn't something he'd admit aloud so easily, Cordis didn't have to be around to sway his choice. Which is why after taking a smaller bite of his own cinnamon raisin pretzel, he'll slide it back into the little paper bag it came in to start scrolling through his device. ]
Guess we better fix that.
[ He's stopped walking by this point, mindful of anyone passing them by as he continues to tap and press little things on the touch screen. By this point, he's become pretty smooth with the tech around here. Sure as hell was an upgrade over the flip phones of old. Cloud's face lights up a tinge when he finds what he wants, focusing his attention back to the Cordis-blessed huntress. ]
You got two options. [ Two-way street! He's laying out the map for her, so to speak. ] We can hit up the PrismaPlace arcade- [ since from time to time he drops in for some games, ] -or...
Looks like the evening showtimes start in about 30 minutes...
no subject
She'd actually gone to the arcade before with Cyrus. It was the other girl who played games while she watched, because as competitive as Weiss may be, she just isn't interested in video games. When Cloud gives the two options, she immediately becomes more keen on the latter. ]
What's showing?
no subject
Moon Wars: Episode IX - The Era of Starchaser
[ Epic Space-Opera. ]
Blood Crescent 3
[ Gothic Action Thriller. ]
Iris Bloom
[ Romantic Tragedy. ]
Art of the Crystal Fist
[ Summer Blockbuster Action. ]
Last Mirage VII: Part 2...? That's confusing...
[ Apparently the movie was stuck in production hell for over 5 years. :^) ]
no subject
[ Then again, Weiss doesn't consume a lot of media to begin with... If she had to choose a movie though, she'd like either a chick flick like Pitch Perfect, or something historical. ]
Let's go with the action movie, I guess. At least that's sure not to get boring.
no subject
Let's hope.
[ By the time they make back to PrismaPlace, they've got about 15 minutes until the next showing for 'Art of the Crystal Fist' starts. The entire time, Cloud isn't exactly hurrying either, opting to keep pace with Weiss. The smell of popcorn, butter and other hot foods and snacks is in the air. There are more movies showing than the ones that he mentioned before, but he's honestly thinking double-time. Hanging out with Weiss, but still making sure to keep her Cordis cons in check. Snacks are in order. There's digital kiosks that one can order tickets through, or the traditional counter where one can purchase tickets from two Prismals accepting those in line. ]
no subject
Once they get in the cinema, though, they'll be surprised to see it's a love seat and not regular seats. ]
I was wondering why the tickets were a little pricy...
[ That answers that. Oh well! May as well get comfortable. The seats are soft and can be reclined! ]
no subject
When in Prismatica. Cloud shrugs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ]
First time I've ever seen this layout. [ When they find their seat, he decides to take the right side, eyes widening a little when he feels himself sinking into the love seat more than he thought. ] Pretty cushy too...
[ They've made it in time with for what appear to be the previews. And the obligatory reminder to turn off your communication devices. Was there always this much padding before films started? Back home they just...started after maybe one or two messages. He doesn't press the button on his side to recline just yet. Mostly because, ]
Want me to grab us anything?
no subject
[ They have a bucket of popcorn (cheese!) and drinks. Weiss will just get up later if she still feels hungry.
Or, you know, have Cloud place an arm over her shoulder in the seat and cuddle for Chroma and warmth. And then make him not say anything because she'll step on his foot if he does.
She takes the other side of the seat and then looks at him as she leans back. It's comfortable, that's for sure, and the view isn't bad. Hopefully the movie's not that bad, either. ]
I guess everyone must be looking forward to the movie. The place is full.
no subject
He looks her way after looking over the back of the couch and scanning the rest of the theatre. ]
Seems like it. I only recognized the name 'cause we got sent down there.
[ Somebody must have had a spark of inspiration from what the Lightless do down in Level 4. ]
no subject
Weiss eats her popcorn, more interested in the snack than the movie as it progresses. It's only just the first ten minutes though, so being attached to anyone isn't happening just yet. ]
no subject
Cloud doesn't say anything, but if there's one thing he's lifting his brow at the film for...it's taking its sweet time in establishing who the main characters are. After a traumatic (but not gory. gotta keep that PG-13/pushing R-rating) dream sequence that sees shady men in coats taking out a family as what one would assume to be the child in hiding watches on. Just when it looks like the child is spotted and reached out for by the assailants, the dream ends and we're introduced to our main character, asleep in what appears to be...a barn? Somewhere out in the Greatmoon Groves probably.
He's only taken a couple of sips from his drink before he decides to finally dip his hand into the large popcorn between them- ]
Mm?
Oh.
[ He doesn't apologize, but that sure was his hand sliding overtop Weiss' as she reaches in first, turning to her with a little "whoops" look on his face before drawing his hand back. ]
no subject
[ It's not an issue. Weiss glances back Cloud's way without really saying anything about it, even tipping the box a little so Cloud can have easier access to getting the snack.
The movie's still not interesting, but Weiss continues to give it a chance. Maybe she's just not cut out for movies, though. She prefers reading books or watching plays. And it's not like she had much people to watch movies with in the first place...
It's about forty-five minutes into the movie that Weiss has had her fill of the snacks. She's wiped her hands on a napkin and has folded it and set it aside. Her drink is large, but and she's only had about half of it. She's bound to get some more popcorn later, but she's fine for now. Her hands are back on her lap, though they don't stay there for long.
It's starting to get cold. Weiss' hair is down, at least, so her neck doesn't make it feel like it's freezing. The dress she wears doesn't have any sleeves though, and doesn't even have straps so she can easily just zip it up. Cordis doesn't make dressing up easy, given the feathers on her arms. She's tried to wear shrugs before, but they would pucker. Cloud might notice Weiss moving closer now, and it's not even because of the bucket of popcorn on his lap. ]
no subject
Seems they're more interested in each other than what's actually happening on-screen. Speaking of which... ]
?
[ The film distracts him for only so long before he notices her moving a little closer. He blinks, but at first doesn't think much of it until she's effectively brushing against his side. Though he doesn't say anything, the cock of his brow enough to tell he's wondering if something was wrong. As his hand brushes across her thigh however (he's taken his gloves off who eats popcorn with gloves kjdfahs), he can feel how cold her skin was getting. Even with the soft feathers that cover her. ]
Chilly?
[ He whispers so as to not disturb the others. They're surrounded by people. Families, couples, groups of friends all out passing the time for the evening with some action flick. The light of the scene catches some of the blush on Cloud's face as he wars with himself on what to do. Before he'd taken her hand in public to get some Chroma back (and to balance out her burnout), but here on this love seat with her, he's beginning to think about just how...intentional these seatings were. It's all that was left, mind. But... ]
...
[ She is softer than usual with the feathers and her down-like hair... It's dark enough in the theatre. You know what? Throwing caution to the wind. He doesn't say anything, the popcorn in his lap as he lets out a relaxing sigh. And Weiss will find herself with a strong arm draped across her shoulders, a silent invitation to take whatever warmth she can get against his side. That thick ribbed vest of his was cozy. This is cool. This is fine. It's just a hangout with some snacks at the movies. ]
no subject
[ She really isn't!! It's why she accepts the invitation, moving even closer until she can lean on his chest. But that's uncomfortable, because the feathers in her hair feel trapped between her head and his arm. She shifts in her seat 'til she's facing a little to the side, but this also means the only place she can rest her arms is... nowhere. One arm behind Cloud? Yeah, she'll just dip her hand beneath him and force him to adjust so she can wrap her arm around him.
It's cosy. ]
No complaining. It's cold.
[ (Weiss would certainly complain if it were the other way around, though. Who's got a lot of nerve now?) ]
no subject
[ Cordis. Cordis. Riiight. The initial contact of having Weiss leaning on his chest wasn't so bad. To any passerby, it's just someone getting appropriately cozy on a loveseat. With his arm over her as well, it wasn't so bad. In fact, Moonlacing 101 was in full swing here and it's already feeling pleasant. The dark was helping too. ...thaaat is until Weiss starts to slide one of her arms under him. He instinctively arches his back when he feels it, looking back to Weiss until she's effectively wrapped an arm around him.
And in this position, Cloud ain't giving no silly hoverhand either. His arm is wrapped around her petite frame, his hand resting along the soft feathers along her arm. Couldn't wrap his arm around her too far or he might be reaching around her front and ahem. Yeah. He's not sure if even Cordis' mischievous streak would save him from that accidental slip. ]
Hoo...
[
Like the owl.]...better?
no subject
Her other hand splays against his chest, not intentionally feeling his muscles or anything, but she's still fixing how she wants to sit! Don't get the wrong idea, Strife!
Once she's comfortable, though, feet partially off the floor by now, she heaves out a sigh. ]
Better. Go watch the movie.
[ She'll just soak in the warmth and get comfy and focus on the Chroma for now. To her, this is better than the film being shown. ]
