liveandforgive: (words aren't the only way...)

[ When he realizes her eyes are lingering on him, his own appreciative gaze flickers, cheeks darkening. Having not thought much of his own body, Cloud only thought that way he pushed himself was to be expected. So having someone look at him the way she did was something he wasn't used to. It wasn't like he wasn't taking her in either. Like there's an unspoken build-up between them that was waiting to burst now that they were here.

His eyes roam before stopping at her chest. One wouldn't have put it past him to be checking her out, but the hunger he feels prickling under his skin sobers at what his gaze is drawn to. Brow lifting, he's seen enough scars (both on him and others) to recognize what's beneath Weiss' breast. Though he doesn't see the mark that comes out the back, a weight settles in his chest anyway, the edges of the expression touched with concern. He wants to ask, yet at the same time, it brings back memories of others who endured and succumbed to this very pain.

It makes his own heart hurt a little knowing something happened to her, even if he didn't fully understand.

"It's probably better not to ask," ]

...

[ As Weiss' hand moves her hair over to cover the scar, she would suddenly find Cloud's hand atop of hers. With her hand clasped in his and lowered to the mattress, his other hand rests against the side of her cheek, gently returning her gaze to his. He's not looking at the scar under her chest. He wouldn't ask. To be honest, he wouldn't even know what to say. But he doesn't want to — with such raw emotion in his eyes that speak volumes over what words could ever accomplish.

Silently telling her it's okay, his hand lowering from her face as he softly kisses her again. ]
